Edugaming design principles Version 0.1

We have a few ongoing edugaming projectes. Here are some principles that worth some thought:

 

-       Starting from a simple, clear edugaming logic that can be clearly described in one sentence;

-       The game start should be easy and simple, allowing anyone to enter the game easily, without any trouble; for example, you can offer a simple class for beginners;

-       Learning could be mirrored as any process, for example, a shopping process, you obtain it, you pay for it, the form of payment could be the learning and lab time;

-       Allow users to shop around, acquire some simple things for free;

-       Game can be action based, even shooting based, but control pace, allow time to stop, think, try out, make errors and recover, try out again, till it works;

-       One task at a time;

-       First person seems always proper and more engaging;

-       Evaluation of the user should be done without user’s awareness, an underlying process all the time; the strategy and method and context should be adjusted correspondingly;

-       There maybe some similarity here or there, but the process should never repeat itself;
